Punk
The Sex Pistols:
The Sex Pistols were and still continue to be one of the first things to pop into your head when you think of 'punk rock'. Comprising of Steve Jones, Paul Cook, Glenn Matlock (later Sid Vicious) and frontman Johnny Rotten, they dominated England's early punk scene.
The Ramones:
The Ramones are world-renowned, even if you've never listened to them. Joey, Dee Dee, Tommy, and Johnny, the four original members. and their logo sport the t-shirts of people everywhere. Besides the Sex Pistols, they are often credited as the first true punk rock band.
The Clash:
Nicky Headon, Paul Simonon. Mick Jones, and Joe Strummer. The Clash brought musical experimentation and new ideas to the so-called table from when they began to when they disbanded.
Green Day:
Billie Joe Armstrong, Tre Cool, and Mike Dirnt. Green Day's loud opinions involving politics and other things, brought attention to them from the 80's to now.
blink-182:
Mark Hoppus, Travis Barker, and Matt Skiba (ex Tom DeLonge and Scott Raynor.) blink-182 has been stated as one of the most influential punk bands. Their recent music is more pop-punk, or "trash pop" as their fanbase has deemed Mark Hoppus' new side project Simple Creatures.
